Baldwin makes a 2u nominal, 5u absolute drop in filter for our Cummins. P/N PF7977.

plus the 7977 has the highest dirt holding capacity and the best water separation of any filters that fit in the 3rd Gen Dodge fuel filter canister.

Yup u can find them off the Internet for around 18 or 19 bucks shipped.. It's cheap insurance and I change mine with every oil change.. Probably don't need to but it makes me feel better!

 

I buy them at Peterbuilt or Freightliner for about $10 bucks, work great.

 

YEAH i just got done ordering three from baldwins wesite.

 

If you can't get PF7977 baldwins locally, the hastings FF1260 is the same filter.

 

I might do that next time.

It's a misnomer to say that the PF7977 fits 3rd-Gen engines. It will not fit the 6.7L engines in 07.5-09 3rd-Gen trucks.

 

You can also order them from Grainger Supply and either do a local pick-up or shipped to your home. They carry all Baldwin products.
